2027 Internships

Bibles International offers a variety of short-term and long-term internships each year. Whether based overseas or in our home office in Grand Rapids, Michigan, these internships are available for academic credit, career development, or hands-on experience. Although the opportunities are unpaid, interns are typically able to raise funds specifically donated for the internship.

Overseas Internships

Overseas internships are typically 4-6 weeks long—one week at the home office, two-four weeks in a workshop(s) overseas, and one final week in the office. The cost is approximately $3,000-$4,000. The primary expense is airfare, with a smaller amount needed for food, housing, local transportation, and visas.

Summer workshops are listed below. Additional workshops similar to those listed below are often available at different times throughout the year. (Specific details on summer workshops will be posted by November 1.)

• Summer Linguistics & Literacy Workshop – Participate in a literacy workshop with an experienced literacy consultant. This internship may involve overseas travel or be based in Grand Rapids. Specific dates, location, length, and openings TBD.
• Summer Bible Translation Workshop, Côte d’Ivoire – Travel with an experienced translation consultant to work with one or more Bible projects in Africa. Workshop date: Late May to early June. Trip length: TBD. Openings: 1-2 men or mixed group of men and women.
• Summer Bible Translation Workshop, Latin America – Accompany an experienced translation consultant to Latin America to work on a Bible translation project. Workshop date: TBD. Trip length: TBD. Openings: 1-2 men.

U.S. Internships

Internships based in the BI home office can be arranged for 1-3 weeks in length, depending on interest and availability. The cost is $175 per week and includes housing and meals. Exposure to one or more of the following areas may be available according to your interests and skills.
