Peru Expansion Project

Latin America is home to 700-800 indigenous languages. Yet, only about 10% of those languages have a complete Bible translation. Some have portions of translated Scripture, but many more have little to nothing of God’s Word in their mother tongue.

Our desire at Bibles International is to see God’s Word translated into many tongues—like those throughout Latin America—so that lives may be transformed by His Living Word. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God, but so many have never even heard it. Those who are believers often struggle to grow in their faith because they have never listened to the Scriptures with understanding in a language that is part of them.

In order to expand God’s work in Latin America, we have launched the Peru Expansion Project, and we need your help.

There are two important components of the Peru Expansion Project – the creation of an affiliate office in Lima, Peru and the development of national consultants. Establishing a new office in Peru will provide a more stable and sustainable foundation for our current and future Bible translation and literacy projects across Latin America. Developing national consultants through strategic training and mentorship will provide long-term leadership with language expertise, cultural insight, and a deep commitment to serving their communities.

Affiliate Office Needs

Five pastors who are passionate about their people and the churches of Latin America have been selected for the board of directors, and an office facility has already been provided. However, an estimated $45,000 is needed to equip the office with furniture, computers, and other equipment and supplies; provide for needs such as rent, insurance, and internet; and fund administrative and training expenses.

National Development Needs

Since the national consultants-in-training will need to move to Lima with their families for an intensive one-year training period, they need help with expenses primarily related to their first year. An estimated $83,000 is needed to cover travel, housing, and ministry expenses; provide computer equipment and other supplies; and supply Bible translation and linguistics training.
