Subash and Sandra Muthyala have experienced all sides of missions. Subash grew up in India with the rich heritage of parents and grandparents who served in missions, pastoral ministry, and theological education. Sandra was saved and discipled through missionaries in her homeland of Uruguay. Together they served as India missionaries for 15 years, engaged in every facet of church planting and leadership training. When unforeseen circumstances brought them and their now adult children, Austin and Sabrina, back to the US, they looked for the Lord to open a new avenue of missions.
In 2022, the Muthyalas were interested when their pastor told them about Bibles International (BI), and BI Director Tim Fink described the needs within the home office, including the area of Advancement. Subash and Sandra had always found this aspect of missions exciting—sharing what God is doing around the world and inviting others to advance ministries through financial partnership. This was the ministry the Muthyalas had prayed for.
Subash and Sandra began working with BI in 2023 and officially joined Baptist Mid-Missions in June 2025. Their new roles within the Advancement Team encompass building relationships with churches and individuals by presenting BI’s worldwide ministries and opportunities. Although this missions ministry is different from their traditional roles in India, Subash and Sandra know that it is just as vital: “That is the beauty of the Body of Christ working together to accomplish the Great Commission.”
