In August of 2024, BI welcomed David and Ruth to our team. David joins us as the finance and operations manager, while Ruth serves as the marketing and communications coordinator and the children’s ministry coordinator. Their arrival is the answer to a long-standing prayer as they came to us with years of missionary service, having joined Baptist Mid-Missions in 2006. They served in Romania for 15 years where they were involved in church planting among the Roma (Gypsy) people.
Dave grew up in a Christian home and was saved at the age of five when his mother led him to the Lord. He is grateful for his education in a Christian school. Through his involvement in the local church, he felt the call to missions while in his early 30s.
Ruth also grew up in a Christian home in a missions-minded family. She trusted Christ as Savior at the age of eight in a Good News Bible Club. For many years she enjoyed children’s ministry in her local church through Awana, VBS, and other children’s ministries. Both Dave and Ruth are graduates of Cedarville University.
The Lord blessed them with two daughters, Celeste and Amber, whom Ruth homeschooled. Their young adult daughters loved their childhood in Romania where they were active in their parents’ ministry.
